The third annual Winter Walk took place on Sunday, February 10!
The morning was a chance to come together and raise awareness of homelessness here in Boston.
This was Bridge’s third time participating. This year the team was bigger than ever, with sixteen individuals walking on behalf of Bridge. A big thank you to all our team members for joining!
Also, we had our Mobile Medical Van on-site and people appreciated the chance to climb aboard for a tour!
What is the Winter Walk?
Starting and ending in Copley Square, the walk is a two-mile loop around the Boston Common. Afterwards, participants mingled in Copley Square for breakfast and a brief program. Both housed and unhoused individuals shared their personal stories, interspersed with live music. City Councilor Annissa Essaibi-George also lent her voice, proclaiming it Winter Walk Day.
Why did Bridge take part?
It takes a community to address homelessness, especially youth homelessness. Bridge reaches 2,000 youth each year “where they are at”, improving access to services. We partner with agencies to prevent long-term homelessness among troubled and vulnerable youth.
We hope you can join us next year in February 2020!
