The Mobile Medical Van serves youth and young adults outdoors

Our Mobile Medical Van serves youth throughout the neighborhoods of Cambridge and Boston. Bridge also serves youth who come to Cambridge and Boston from cities and towns throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, out of state, and out of country.

What happens on the van?

A typical night starts at Park Street station, then after stopping in Copley Square for just under an hour, the van goes to Harvard Square. At each location, Outreach staff connect with youth in need of support. On the van, youth can take respite and receive survival essentials and medical care while beginning a conversation about how to get more help.

Last year, 400 homeless youth who identify as Cambridge residents made 1,120 visits on the Mobile Medical Van in Harvard Square.

Our Mobile Medical Van brings emergency and preventative health care to the streets. Staff provide front-line services to help youth avoid exploitation, stay safe, and begin the process of overcoming the effects of abuse and neglect which led to their present circumstances.

Thank you, Cambridge Community Foundation!
