Bridge expands Safe Place network and adds two more Safe Place Sites

More Than Words becomes newest partner in Bridge’s Safe Place network

Bridge is a lead agency for National Safe Place Network, having established its own network of Safe Place sites. Our Adolescent Runaway Counselor, Jade, trains and manages a network of seventeen Safe Place sites, now including More Than Words - Boston and More Than Words - Waltham. A Safe Place is a site where underage youth can go if they urgently need help and safety. Depending on each individual’s circumstances, MTW staff can connect each one with Bridge for further support.

Meet Kristina, a Social Work Intern in our Transitional Day Program

“I was looking to work with at-risk youth and was surprised that Bridge is one of the few agencies in Boston serving homeless youth.

A large part of the work I do is supporting youth emotionally during this time in their lives. I also provide case management support for our youth. I help each individual apply for housing, search for jobs, or get vital documents. Also, I assist in the running of daily groups and attend program outings in the community. Interning here at Bridge was a great way to build off my previous experience in youth services.”
