Haley House soup kitchen becomes Boston’s 15th Safe Place

Here in Boston, Bridge is the local respondent for the national runaway hotline and National Safe Place Network.

Our Adolescent Runaway Counselor, Jade, trains and manages a network of fifteen Safe Place sites, now including Haley House. A Safe Place is a site where underage youth can go if they urgently need help and safety.

Haley House staff are now a new resource for youth who may not know where to turn to, for various reasons. Depending on each individual’s circumstances, Haley House staff can connect each one with Bridge for further support.

Why Haley House?

Haley House, a soup kitchen Boston’s South End, is on the same street as a high school. This proximity helps improve access for youth ages 14-17. Youth will be better able to stop by in case they need support services or are dealing with a crisis.

Working together, we are the Safe Place network for Eastern Massachusetts. This includes 24-hour access to a counselor and safe overnight accommodations for underage youth, for up to 72 hours.
