Bridge has dedicated the month of January to highlighting this important topic.
Programs staff are strengthening their skills and knowledge through intensive training centered around better supporting youth.
It can be a struggle to find the right resources for each individual, and the intensive training will better equip our counselors and staff to continue supporting youth with diverse needs.
Better prepared to serve youth
During this month we are providing a series of twelve in-house trainings related to substance use and recovery. Four of them are seminars on Continuum of Care (CoC) housing opportunities for individuals affected with substance use disorders, ranging from SUD-Detox programs to long-term recovery.
Many of the workshops are led by staff, but we will also have some speakers from outside programs come in to talk about their services as well, such as the ARMS Clinic at Massachusetts General Hospital.
The first workshop of the month was on how to conduct substance abuse assessments and Bridge will host several others ranging on sobriety coaching, recovery resources, drug courts, and 12-step meetings. Each workshop better prepares our staff/clinicians on how to support and equip each individual for optimal recovery.
